NOMINATION GUIDELINES

1. The nominated visual artist must be a Philippine citizen, aged 35 years old or below on or before 31 May 2009. Visual artists working or residing overseas are qualified provided that they possess Philippine citizenship

2. The visual artist must have had a solo or group exhibition in the twelve months preceding 2 May 2009 where the artworks submitted for consideration appeared.

3. Visual art is defined, for the purpose of the Ateneo Art Awards, as paintings, drawings, original fine prints, photographs, sculptures, assemblages, installations, performance, new media (film, video, computer, other technologies).

4. All nomination forms must be accompanied by visual documentation and received at the following address on or before 5 PM, 1 June 2009:

  Ground Floor, Rizal Library
  Ateneo de Manila University
  Katipunan Avenue
  Loyola Heights, Quezon City 1108

5. Visual documentation must be in either of the following formats:
  •Image (.jpeg or .tiff)
  •5R photographs
  •Video (.mov or .wmv)

Links to video documentation online may also be provided. Documentation of still artworks in video is limited to a maximum of 2 minutes. While there is no time limit for time-based/video artworks or of video documentation of performance, we advise you to send the video 1-2 weeks before the deadline to allow Jurors enough time to view your work.

*Please do not send originals. The Ateneo Art Gallery will not be held responsible for any return or damage of visual documentation provided.

6. All images of artworks submitted for consideration should be properly labeled as follows:

  Name of artist:
  Title of artwork:
  Year completed:
  Medium:
  Dimensions (in cm. or hours/mins./secs. for time-based works):
  Owner of artwork (other than the artist):

7. All decisions made by the Jury with regard to the qualification of the nominated visual artist, the artworks submitted for consideration, the 2009 Ateneo Art Awards Short List, the 2009 Ateneo Art Awards Winners, and the 2009 Ateneo Art Gallery International Studio Residency Grants are final.
